Initial contacts in February 2024 gave rise to an informal network with the following
stakeholders and supporters, who are now members of the association:
In Germany:
Freies Deutsches Hochstift, Frankfurt/M
Goethe Society in Weimar
City of Ilmenau
Aurelia e.V., registered charity, Bonn
In Switzerland:
Goethe Society Switzerland (GGS)
In Italy:
Casa di Goethe, Rome
The network is to be further expanded over the coming years. In all European countries
visited by Goethe, institutions and organisations are approached to become members of
the association. Potential members will be invited by the Executive Board or can apply to
join the association themselves. The first membership fee will be due from January 2025.
The honorary Board of Directors elected on 1 July 2024 comes from three countries:
Dr Margrit Wyder, Zurich (President of the GGS) as 1st Chairwoman
Dr Johannes Höfer, Weimar (Managing Director of the GG in Weimar) as 2nd Chairperson
Dr Gregor Lersch, Rome (Director of the Casa di Goethe) as Treasurer
The Board appointed Mrs Daniela Stefanie Hauf, Göttingen, as Managing Director. She has
also worked for other European Cultural Routes and has extensive experience in this field.
